Notes - Susan E. Moore was born on May 7, 1826, in Brownstown, Indiana to Hugh Moore (b: Abt. 1785 Ireland, d: Abt 1837 New York) Rebecca Almira Woodmanee (b: Abt. 1792 New Jersey, d: Abt. 1842 New York). She married Andrew Jackson Speer on March 18, 1844, in Jackson County, Indiana, and together they would raise a family of nine children. In the mid-1850s they located to Clay, in Wayne County, Iowa where she would remain some 40 years. Andrew Jackson died in August 1886 in Clio, Iowa. After Andrew's death Susan continued to live in Wayne County until about 1895 when she located to Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, to be close to her daughter Minerva, a schoolteacher in Oklahoma. She died on February 5, 1904, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, having lived a long life of 77 years.
